Windows 10
A Microsoft has faced on persistent concerns about data collection of Windows 10. india has previously ordered Microsoft to no longer follow Windows 10 users, the EU has expressed concerns and the EFF blasted Microsoft for its data collection. While the software giant has revealed the data that Windows 10 really collects last year, it goes a step further with the next update of the operating system.
Beginning in week, Windows 10 testers will be do access a new Windows Diagnostic Data Viewer. The viewer includes an overview of data sent to Microsoft servers by Windows 10. Microsoft collects a more then bunch of anonymous Windows 10 data from users to help improve the operating system and make product decisions. The new viewer is similar to Wireshark and allows Windows 10 users to decrypt the data sent encrypted to Microsoft's servers.
- ANY USER OF WINDOWS 10 WILL BE ABLE TO REGISTER IN THE DATA
Diagnostic data includes device connectivity, peripherals, configuration options, performance data, movie consumption, installed applications, and more. Windows 10 users who want this detailed level of detail will be able to filter and inspect the content. It is much more transparent than Microsoft by publishing documents and hoping to relieve worries.
The viewer will first be available for Windows Insiders, and Microsoft promises to include it in the next major update of Windows 10. Codenamed Redstone 4, we do not have a name yet for the next update but it should be available in the spring. Microsoft is also updating its online privacy dashboard to provide a clearer activity history page and the ability to export and delete data, or view and manage media consumption data.
All of these privacy enhancements are clearly a response to growing concerns around Windows 10 data collection. The Microsoft Windows 10 privacy headache has been a recurring problem for over two years. Microsoft has handled a number of complaints previously, but some misleading stories suggest that Windows 10 has an integrated keylogger, while others have focused on non-game-based concerns and Solitaire versions. Microsoft is just now transparent as possible to and he clearly hopes that the new data collection viewer will silence any remaining concerns.
