MICROSOFT REPAIRS INTEL BROKEN POTS WITH A PATCH FOR WINDOWS

with a pathch for windows

Intel has doubled up in the carpet in the space of a month. Not content to announce late a critical flaw affecting its processors, the firm of Santa Monica has concocted a patch that is unsatisfactory for many users. Aimed at countering the second variant of the Spectrum attack, the patch causes a number of unwanted effects on the PCs on which it was installed - starting with concerns about untimely restarts.

To try to limit the case, Microsoft has just developed a patch of his own to cancel the problems caused by that of Intel. Soberly named KB4078130, the update was released urgently by the firm of Redmond. To benefit from it, however, it must be installed manually.

Microsoft has just launched the deployment of a new patch for Windows. It aims to limit the damage caused by the patch proposed by Intel to counter Specter.

Microsoft is also calling on all partners to no longer deploy the Intel-designed patch. Note that Intel had for its part announced that it was better to avoid installing its patch because of these famous worries found under Windows. When the remedy is worse than the disease, it is better to abstain ...

An update to be installed only in case of necessity ...
Importantly, the Microsoft patch is not for everyone, and it is precisely for this reason that it was not offered via the Windows Update service.

If you have installed the Intel patch and have had problems since then, you are affected. To install the update published by Microsoft, nothing more simple, just go here and download it. You will then get a simple executable that will be sufficient to launch a double-click.

Latest News: Microsoft reminds customers that no report on an attack using Spectrum Variant 2 (CVE 2017-5715, for which the Intel patch was designed) was reported as of January 25 . The risk of being a victim is relatively low, but this does not prevent the American giant to recommend despite the installation of the patch of the Californian foundry ... Finally, when the latter will be really developed.
